Castle Mountain located in Banff National Park, Canada's oldest National Park established in 1885 in the Rocky Mountains, is approximately half way between Banff and Lake Louise. Originally named Castle Mountain by James Hector in 1858 for its castle like appearance, it was known as Mount Einsenhower, in the years 1946 to 1979, in honor of the World War II General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
